January 10th, 2023 – It is with great pleasure that the TCRC MWED would like to announce that it has ratified a new 3-year Collective Agreement with VIA Rail Canada which covers it’s Maintenance of Way employees at their TMC and MMC yard locations in Toronto, ON & Montreal, QC.
The membership voted in solidarity, a 100% in favor of ratification of the new agreement which boasts a 11.5% GWI (5.5% on the first year) over the course of the 3 Year Agreement (2022-2024) with retroactive payments dating back to Jan 1, 2022. The agreement also included position wage re-adjustments, shift differential increases, benefit increases, safety boot & work clothing allowance increases, minor work rule changes, and the implementation of an overtime banking system.
The TCRC MWED would like to first and foremost congratulate the employees of VIA Rail on a successful ratification, as well as congratulate the TCRC MWED members involved on a successful bargaining session and a job well done.
