April 12th, 2023 – It is with great pleasure that the TCRC MWED has ratified a new 4-year Collective Agreement with St-Lawrence & Atlantic Railway, a subsidiary railway of Genesee Wyoming. This agreement covers it’s Maintenance of Way are Car Department employees located in Quebec.
The membership voted in solidarity, 100% in favor of ratification of the new agreement which boasts a 13% GWI (5% on the first year) over the course of the 4 Year Agreement (2023-2026) with retroactive payments dating back to Jan 1, 2023. Benefit increases, meal allowance increases, safety boot & work clothing allowance increases, the introduction of a Health & Fitness subsidy as well as a higher Insurance Plan coverage rate by the employer also tie into the new agreement.
The TCRC MWED would like to first and foremost congratulate the employees of STL&A on a successful ratification, as well as congratulate TCRC MWED Atlantic Director Patrick Gauthier on a successful bargaining session and a job well done.
